Emotional Intelligence
The difference between a business and a successful business is Emotional Intelligence (EI). The difference between a principal and an effective leader is Emotional Intelligence. It is not about managing positions, rather managing people. Therefore, the leader in any position of influence, authority, and power must understand, master, and apply EI to build relationships, reduce team stress, defuse conflict, and improve job satisfaction. Emotional Intelligence is the ability to identify and regulate one’s own emotions and understand and have empathy for the emotions of others.
Participants in this professional learning are supported to identify why they feel what they feel. In this, it helps them to interpret their emotions and how to how to deal with them. Thus, they then recognize how their emotional lead them to their decision making and how their decisions may positively or negatively impact other people’s emotions. This professional opportunity is geared towards business owners, leaders, and school principals.
